"My house looks like a tornado hit it!"

"I can't find the credit card statement and it's late!"

"How will I pay for this?"

"I can't keep up with all these commitements!"

Have any of these questions ever crossed your mind? Then maybe it's time to simplfy your life! The first week in August is "Simplify Your Life Week". What a great time to start taking steps to simplify your life! Why put stresses on yourself that you don't have to?

Don't know where to start? Then check out the list below. Can you start doing one of these things today?

  1. Delegate chores at home. Rather than doing it all yourself (or attempting to) enlist the help of others both inside your household and outside.
  2. Don’t over commit. Evaluate your activities. Shed activities that no longer serve a purpose.
  3. Make a list of your “to-do’s”. Prioritize that list. Start at the top.
  4. Disconnect! Yes, that means that from time to time it is healthy (and necessary) to disconnect yourself from the world. Turn off the cell phone. Turn off the computer. Turn off the television.
  5. Pay bills online. Bill paying online can save you time and money. No more envelopes and stamps. Even setup email reminders if you like.
  6. Create a budget. Follow it. There is power in telling your money what to do and where to go!
  7. Declutter your home. Start small, with a drawer or a cabinet then move on to the bigger projects. Less really is more!

Simplicity has nothing to do with depriving yourself, but it does have everything to do with taking the time to evaluate what truly is "enough" and discarding the rest.

What will you do to simplify your life?
