People who have acne-prone skin tend to feel suspicious towards food. Which food to avoid and which food should be taken more. Even when the pimples have gone, they’ll still worry if it’s coming back again, thus, always taking precautions on the food they’re eating.
Being food-conscious is nothing wrong. Although, some scientists believe there’s no direct link between certain food and the cause of acne, having a healthy, well-balanced diet, will promote overall skin condition and healthy well-being. Many doctors and dermatologists will still advice their acne patients to balance their diet and develop a good eating habit.
Food you should eat to combat acne : · Soybean. Try substituting your dairy with soy made products. Drink plenty of soymilk instead of dairy milk. It is natural source of protein and rich in vitamins and minerals · Foods those are rich in vitamin A and zinc. These include spinach, carrots, liver, mangoes, asparagus, broccoli, pumpkins, tomatoes, etc. However, taking extremely high dosis of vitamin A could be toxic, so don’t over do it. · Foods that contain vitamin B-2. These can be found in fish, egg and most green leafy vegetables. Vitamin B-2 is helpful in relieving stress, which is one of the causes for acne. · Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant and has been known as one of the nutrients that promotes beautiful skin. Foods rich in vitamin E are such as almonds, asparagus, avocado, nuts, seeds vegetable oils, spinach and other green leafy vegetables · High Fibre Foods. These can be found in most fruits and vegetables, whole wheat and whole grains. High fibre foods aid in digestion and help relieve constipation which will get rid excess toxins and grease from our body.
What you should avoid : · Foods in packages · Foods with artificial flavour and preservatives · Junk foods, these include fried fatty foods, chips and soft drinks · Sugar, ice cream and chocolate · White bread · Limit intake of food that is rich in vitamin B12. Source of vitamin B12 is fish, milk and milk products, egg and meat. · Caffeine · Foods with high iodine
This doesn’t mean that you have to completely eliminate these foods from your life. Just try to limit your intake to these foods. The main foods that aggravate acne are fats, sugars, dairy and iodine. Avoid these foods and try to have more fruits and vegetables in your diets. This could help you deal with the problem of acne.
