You can think of every reason why quitting pot cannot be an option: stress, social pressure, and a deficient plan and a lot more.  Without you knowing it these are only shallow reasons because behind these is the four letter nasty words starting with "F" that we either fail to recognize or do not find its existence at all.

Definitely … it isFEAR

We all like to convince ourselves that we are capable of doing everything we want in life without considering the fact that there are many obstacles that stops us.  If you try to look close fear have a great role that we don't admit and if you have been a marijuana user for a long time it will only pursue because the alternatives are just so impossible.

Almost always fear is subconscious but usually it appears in a form of procrastination" I will stop next week…after my birthday…when I finish the last stock",etc or at times it obviously appears as an imagined hindrance "I can't stop smoking pot because  I will…lose my friends…have terrible withdrawals…lose my creative thinking."Etc.  we just realized in the end that there is no easy way to doing what is right.

This reason is not only true to weed addiction or any other addictions but this is also applicable in all situations that require us to venture on new things, and make certain changes in life in which we cannot control the outcome.

The only way is not to allow it to hinder you from doing the things you just have to do!

Here are other reasons that fear can do and stop you from quitting your addictions and always remember that courage is not the absence of fear rather the ability to face fear and to do what is right.

Fear of Failure

Fear of failure is the main obstacle that keeps a person away from succeeding.  This is connected to the issue of our self esteem.  We are hesitant to do any task because we are so focused to our self worth that we rather not take the chance than risk them and fail and be humiliated.  We never try, and if we do try and we failed…we allow reinforcing ourselves negatively over and over again.

Let me tell you what you can do in order to overcome fear of failure and those negative thoughts we bring along/

  • Admit your fear to quit smoking pot.
  • Put in mind that if you fail once, this doesn't justify everything, you have to make it a part of your learning.
  • Keep the learning experience and throw away the fear of embarrassment, this can be difficult but if this becomes a habit then you have one of the greatest tools in life.

Fear of Success

It is so ironic why we have to fear success!  If you are eager to quit Mary Jane then do not be afraid of doing it!  This is one of the hardest tasks to decipher because we are afraid of the changes that can happen in our life.  Instead of thinking about the positive result of our resolution we subconsciously cling on the negative aspect like the problem that may arise with the change we make.

Success can also be suggestive of some things that make pot smokers afraid: Will your peer hate you for the decision u made? Will you never get high again? How will you ever overcome stress?  Are these familiar questions to you?

Here are some points to help you overcome this fear:

  • No matter what you do change will happen.  Either you quit or stop smoking change will pursue, so why not quit and face change with a better self and a fuller wallet?
  • Never stop no matter what!  Focus and be spontaneous.  Keep fighting.
  • The benefits you get from quitting marijuana is not just the fact that you will not smoke again but instead it will reinforce you in the coming obstacles and challenges in life that you are about to face.

Fear of Social Rejection

It can be a part of fear of success but probably holds a special place in every pot smokers who wishes to quit.  The thought that all your friends are pot smokers, you fear that they will reject you as a person because of the choice you made.

Despite the fear we should learn to avoid it.  Some choose not to do anything but this choice will leave you unhappy and scared to do things for yourself.  You might consider the following suggestions:

  • You cannot please everybody!  There will be people who are willing to support you and there are some who won't…Choose your friend wisely.
  • You are the one who live and direct your life, not them and it doesn't affect them either, if you make that clear to them and do not judge them then they do not have the right to judge you as well.

Fear of Risk

This is a fear of the unknown, but dwells deeper on being in the safe side.  Life is all about taking risk and this is also true in quitting pot because being safe is all about holding that position and not making an effort to move out of your comfort zone that you are in control of rather than taking the alternative.

We are so comfortable with this that it makes it so hard to battle this fear off our minds.  But always keep in mind that better things come to those who venture to what is unfamiliar.  Try to ponder on these things.

  • What are the worst things that can happen? Is it really hard to quit pot?
  • To take the risk means to gain self confidence.  Every day you abstain from smoking is a determination to go through the next step, face the days ahead until you conquer your fear totally.
  • Do not think so hard about it!  Just act on it!
