Betrayal by a loved on can be a terrible thing. However, it can be forgiven over time and depending on the circumstances. Those circumstances are usually the love felt for the person and the legitimate resolution to the matter. Should the love be deep and be returned the same way in return, then the betrayal, no matter what it is, is overwhelming thus making the road to recovery and forgiveness harder and longer. Should you be in a relationship that there is no deep emotion and cheating does occur, it can hurt when it happens especially since people feel they are to blame for the other person’s action. They may feel unwanted and derisory. Egos are bruised but being able to forgive infidelity isn’t hard, forgetting it… that’s a total different matter. Why is this? When you betray the trust of the one you are with, you have to earn that trust back. It’s best to forgive and forget because thinking on the deed means people have not really forgiven the person who committed the offense. When you forgive completely, you don’t want to think about the deed that took place. Those who forgive accept that anything, no matter good or bad, shapes them to what they are. How to Move On Move Forward When you dump someone because of their infidelity, you can be very hurtful and vengeful. Give yourself some time away from the cheater to do some self-reflection. Over time, you may learn to forgive the infidelity in time and become friends with your ex. In actuality, the whole experience of forgiveness can be therapeutic. If you have been betrayed and learned from it, be thankful you are stronger from it all. Don’t keep thinking about the past because it affects you. Rather look to the future and move past it. You can forgive infidelity if you allow yourself the opportunity.
