Do you remember when you were a kid and eating your lunch at school? Do you remember what it was like opening up that 'G.I. Joe' or My 'Little Pony' lunchbox with anticipation and excitement of what goodies would be inside? Were you ever disappointed when you opened you lunch to find that the cookies and cupcakes were replaced with carrots and
celery? That, my friends, is called "lunch bag letdown"; when you open your lunch to find out it's not what you expected!
I remember going home after school one day in elementary school, after an extreme case of lunch bag letdown. I burst into the kitchen and told my mom how much I hated the lunch she made for me and how disappointed I was when I opened it at school. Her response, "if you don't like what I make, make your own lunch!"
And I did. The next day, Chef Ryan Porter (He is not an ACTUAL chef, check out for more info) was the only grade three student eating a peanut butter and chocolate chip sandwich on white bread! Ha!
How many of us still suffer from lunch bag letdown? How many of us wake up each morning disappointed by what the day has to offer us? You may be a student who is sick of what's taking place at school everyday or you may be an adult bored with the repetition of day-to-day living.
