With increasing demand for non-invasive ways to reduce wrinkles or other unsightly facial problems, researchers and surgeons continue to research cutting edge plastic surgery to develop and laser treatments that bring reduced risk and quick healing. The Walton Sun recently reports the introduction of Fraxel Re:pair, a non-invasive laser treatment used for the reduction of fine to moderate wrinkles on the face, neck and chest.
Surgeon Dr. Steve Weiner, MD of Aesthetic Clinque conducted a one-year study with Solta Medical Inc., and his results were presented at the annual American Academy for Dermatology meeting. The study will also be published by Solta Medical Inc.
After speaking with experts, we’ve found that Phoenix cosmetic surgeons along with surgeons across the country recognize the potential benefits of face-lift like procedures such as the Fraxel Re:pair treatment which is based on CO2 laser technology. This is how it generally works: the laser removes portions the epidermis and heats the dermis to tighten the skin and help with collagen elasticity, referred to as resurfacing. As with other laser treatment the new skin is exposed and wound care, the most difficult part of the treatment, is necessary. Many plastic surgeons, Phoenix liposuction specialists in particular, would agree that the latter healing stage of any cosmetic procedure is highly critical for successful results.
Certain groups are discouraged from receiving this treatment: smokers, people with excessively tanned skin and deeply dark skin. People who smoke can inhibit the healing process since nicotine constricts blood vessels. And Fraxel Re:pair doesn’t do as well on those with heightened pigmentation; the higher the pigmentation, the less effective the treatment is. The treatment has been shown effective on Asians and Hispanics, however. The cost for Fraxel Re:pair ranges from $1,300 to $6,300.
Fraxel Re:pair is strictly a low-intensive, non-evasive facial procedure not designed for treating extensively loose facial skin. Generally, individuals who seek fine facial line removal and treatment of acne scars can benefit from this procedure, however, patients who need more aggressive, long-lasting facial treatments are highly recommended to consider more traditional methods which have been proven effective time and time again. As patient needs differ from individual to individual, specialists in the industry encourage clients to carefully consider all options before choosing the appropriate procedure. Whether considering Fraxel Re:pair or other types of cosmetic treatments, patients in the Arizona area interested in traditional face lift or aesthetic Phoenix breast augmentation surgery should refer to plastic surgery professionals in their areas.
