Don’t be bummed if you have stage fright. Even performers have stage fright once in a while. The difference between performers and those who let their fears get the better of them is that the former can get over it. This is because they know the right steps onhow to overcome stage fright.

First of all, one must review the performance skills. Stage fright is often related to performances on stage. If you’re suffering from stage fright minutes before it is your turn to go onstage, you can just review what you should do and feel more confident.

If you are afraid that you will forget and mess up, chances are you will forget and mess up. Just think that you will do good and you will remember everything. This is the power of positive thinking. This is one way on how to overcome stage fright .

Another way is to prepare for the work. If everything is done thoroughly, then you are confident and will get the job done. This reduces the stress and anxiety level. It is also practical and smart to double check the things that you need like costumes or props. If you are a musician, make sure that you have all the songs and the notes in your repertory.

Put yourself in a position where you can control everything. This is very appropriate just in case something unexpected happens. At least you will be more confident that you can easily correct it. You can practice your relaxation skills before stepping onstage.

Breathe in and breathe out because this helps a lot in setting your body to the right disposition. If you are tense and anxious, the breathing in and breathing out process helps the body get into that relaxed state that it should be in before your performance.

Here’s another important tip onhow to overcome stage fright. Do not be distracted or rushed on the day of your performance. As much as possible, be relaxed and calm. This is done by visualizing what the entire performance would be life from start to finish.

If you are an actor, make yourself the medium of the playwright so that you can get the intention and the spirit of the play. If you are a musician, use your body and your voice as the instruments in touching your audience.

Through performing, you are sharing your gift. As an actor, you are touching the lives of the audience. As a musician, you are inspiring your audience. A performance can always trigger an insight or motivate the audience. That is the power of the artist.

He can either inspire or influence. In fact, he can do both. Now if one has stage fright, this cannot be done. Therefore it is important for artists to remember that they should share their talent with the world.
