What are you supposed to do when your boyfriend says he needs a break? As much as we may want to believe he’s saying that because he’s scared of all the overwhelming feelings of love he has for us, that’s not what’s going on. When your boyfriend pulls away it means just one thing. He’s trying to break up with you in a nice way. Anytime a man needs time or space or a break he’s already got one foot out of the door of the relationship. If you’re not ready to say goodbye to him yet, don’t. There are specific steps you’ve got to start taking now to ensure you make him fall deeper in love with you now than he ever was before.

When your boyfriend pulls away your natural instinct is going to be to fight back. You’ll pull out all the stops if you still love him in an effort to keep him. That includes doing things like crying uncontrollably, begging and even stalking him. Doing any of this isn’t going to accomplish anything positive. It’s only going to result in him feeling justified in asking for some space. You’ve got to do the one thing that he isn’t expecting you to do. That means you’ve got to accept that he wants time apart, and even agree that it’s a good idea.

When your boyfriend pulls away from you he’s doing it with the understanding that you still love him. Men like having that reassurance because they know that if the time apart isn’t what they wanted, they still have their ex to come back to. You need to show him that you’re not one to wait around while he sifts through his feelings. A rejected man is a desperate man. That’s the very reason you need to tell him that you were also considering a break. Make him feel as though he’s losing you for good and he suddenly won’t want any distance or space.
