If you've lived in New York City over the past six years, you saw the rise of a tremendous construction boom, where a lot of parking or empty lots were taken over, and hi-rise, luxury condos were erected on top of them.
I love the whole real estate development process and would observe day by day, week by week, and month by month the transformation of a lot that was empty into one that had residential building with residents living inside of it.
I never really knew or understood what went into the construction process, nor can I fully tell you each step was involved, because I'm neither an architect, nor am I a construction worker, nor a civil engineer.
I would first see wood planks go around the whole property to prevent passersby's from trespassing. Then, I would see a whole, big, wide pit dug into the ground which I assumed would hold the foundation of the building. Then I would eventually see the beams laid, etc. etc.
I wasn't around everyday to see what was going on because I had my own life to live. But the periodic times I would pass by, I'd be impressed with the progress of the construction. I'd also be impressed at seeing what type of structure was taking shape on top of what used to be an empty lot.
One day, after many months, when I'd pass by and notice that the whole building was finished, I'd once again be forced to marvel at the whole process, because what was once an empty lot underwent an entire process of which I was ignorant that brought the shiny glass building I saw standing before me.
My experience watching the construction of a building underscores the experience one should have when manifesting abundance in his life.
Just as I didn't know, and still don't know the process of how an empty lot was going to be transformed into a luxury condo, we don't know how a life that we're living now where we have scarcity is going to be transformed into one of abundance. The only thing we should be aware of is that it's possible. There is no need to understand the whole process from bottom to top, and from inside and out as to how it happens.
Just like I naturally assumed that everyone involved in the process of construction knew what they were doing, we should know what the Creator is doing when He is manifesting abundance in our lives.
Notice that I didn't go to the construction site and shout and yell and call them idiots for not doing their jobs properly. Notice I didn't go and tell them how to do their jobs. I just assumed I didn't know what was going on, or what was involved, I just let them do their work.
This is the same way with the Creator, let Him do His work and get out of the way.
Just as I wasn't around at every single moment for the whole construction process, neither should we be breathing down the neck of the whole reality creation process. We should just live our lives and let the process manifest.
In the same way I knew that there was going to be a building built on the lot, but I didn't know how it was going to take shape, it's the same way that we should not be attached to any particular type of outcome when we're manifesting abundance. The only understanding that we should have is that it is going to happen.
The same way that I was in awe of the construction of the building, is the same type of awe we should have for the Creator when He is manifesting abundance in our lives. It is this awe that gives us the ability to be humble and have faith that He knows much better than we do.
And the same way I observed the process of the construction, totally uninvolved, is the same way we must observe the process of manifesting abundance: totally unattached but watching things unfold.
The mindset we have in observing the construction of a building is the same mindset needed for manifesting abundance.
