Addicted to chocolate.

Are you addicted to chocolate and ready to overcome your chocolate addiction, if so then it is important to look deeply as to why you are now ready to overcome your addiction.

Here are a few steps to follow to help you stop your chocolate addiction.

1.       Grab your journal and write down exactly why you are ready to now look at overcoming your addiction. For example: are you fed up of the highs and lows of it, or could you be wanting to look for other more long-lasting ways of feeling better about yourself and the world. Whatever your reasons are write them down in as much detail as possible.

2.       Write down now why it is important for you now to overcome your addiction. Are you in so much pain, that you just have to look for alternative sources of pleasure as you are fed up with how your chocolate addiction has enabled you to hide from love, from your gifts, and indeed from the world. The more details you write down as to why it is critical for you to stop your chocolate addiction now, this month, this season, or this year the better.

3.       Knowing now why you are so addicted to chocolate and knowing why you are ready to overcome your addiction to chocolate now helps you then to look for support.

As with any life change, people need love, support and empathy as they go through these often uncomfortable stages of growth and chocolate addicts are certainly not an exception to this. Therefore, write a list of a few people who you could contact, at the drop of a hat if necessary who can help support you and encourage you when you find the going rather tough. It is a good idea to have a list of people who you can call, email and meet up with face-to-face, as we are all rather busy at times so it is important for you to know what options you have.

Now, armed with your keen self-awareness and a support system in place you will find it much easier to look at finally overcoming your addiction to chocolate.
