Asthma is not always a chronic disease; usually it is triggered by some factors. And as long as the patient avoids these factors he/she can remain safe from an asthma attack. Sometimes the asthma is seasonal means there is no avoiding it, not unless you move to another region. Many people who suffer from asthma have a difficult time finding anything that cures or even helps their asthma. For many of these people, one or more than one of the many knownasthma home remedies below would help.

Drinking two cups of strong coffee during asthma attacks for example can help alleviate your condition while you are waiting for medical help to arrive. The components found in coffee have long been known by science to have about the same effect as your rescue/relief inhaler. Some health care providers have actually bee suggesting this home remedy for asthma to their patients in times of crisis.

A spoonful of turmeric powder in tomato juice or milk taken once daily will help in reducing tropical eosinophilia and free the pangs of breathlessness in asthmatics. A teaspoon of lettuce seeds mixed with honey when taken twice daily on empty stomach, during the treatment of asthma and bronchitis is a very useful tonic and when used regularly, will reduce dependence on asthma medicines and improve the quality of life.

Pineapple is a good tropical fruit when it comes to asthma relief. Pineapple contains a nutrient called Bromelain that comes from pineapple stems helps to absorb quercetin better. Quercetin a natural antihistamine helps to stabilize mast cells and prevents the release of histamines that caused inflammation in our body.

Carom seeds (ajwain) are also beneficial in reducing the excessive production of phlegm. Take carom seeds in the form of powder twice daily, or prepare a decoction and take it warm. This remedy is taken especially in bronchial asthma, when phlegm remains stuck in the bronchioles.

Another simple home remedy for asthma is mint. It is well known for its property of decreasing phlegm. Crush fresh mint leaves to extract its juice. Add equal amount of ginger (adrak) juice in mint juice. Take 8-10 ml of this mixture two times a day, along with honey.

One flower called Bach Flower is effective in managing stress. If stress has been causing your asthma, then this is the natural remedy for you. To use this flower, just put 4 drops of the flower extract into a 1-ounce bottle filled with spring water that is three quarter full. If you want to, you can always add apple cider vinegar or vegetable glycerin as a preservative.

Vitamin B-12 is another home remedy that I've used. B-12 is used to maintain red blood cells and nerve cells. My mom actually suggested this one to me and since then I've read about it in many other places. Using it on a regular basis can help prevent future asthma problems.
