Beat Adult Dyslexia
==================================

Tools for the Dyslexic:Learning to Navigate Through a Non-Dyslexic World When You View the World Completely Differently

Dyslexia can be one of the most frustrating things to deal with in adulthood. While traditional schooling probably proved to be difficult for you because of the way you look at the world, hopefully you encountered a caring teacher who understood your learning disability and showed you how to learn information in a different way. From understanding driving directions, to speaking and writing, the dyslexic mind will distort information making it almost impossible to understand or will show a non-dyslexic person an interesting perspective on how to look at a given problem. If you are struggling with your major in college, I suggest thinking about how you look at the world, and researching other majors that will reflect exactly how you think. This is a sad truth of our educational system as many teachers will not work harder to help all of their students. I would answer questions in a "jumbled" fashion and yet the teachers never understood what was happening in my mind. Dyslexia affects many Americans in all age groups with all socioeconomic backgrounds. There are also many positive aspects of dyslexia and we will explore these aspects in this article.

Public Speaking

e. Sometimes, in a dyslexic moment, I will be thinking so fast, I will not stop to think about what I am saying. You will probably find this to be a simple yet very effective tool in combating the flip flopping aspect of the dyslexic mind. This is the perfect blend for me to make a pronoun flip flopping mistake.

Verb Agreements

For example, if you just stated, "Your good work is a testament to the dedication you had for your company," correct yourself quickly by stating, "Excuse me, what I meant was your good work is a testament for the dedication you have for your company. The first is what was discussed in the last section - slow down when you are speaking so you can compile your thoughts and construct a good sentence that will convey your message to another person. While you must be cognoscente of pronoun usage, you must also be cognoscente of proper verb agreements.

Writing

Remember that most people have to proofread everything, but adult dyslexics need to check it a little more thoroughly since we tend to switch things around on a regular basis. This will help you communicate with the world immensely. You will find that putting everything in writing is one of the easiest ways to combat dyslexia.

Taking Standardized Tests

Those that do not have any problem with standardized tests will tell you that they never skip over questions without filling in an answer, they do not read into the questions and they do not fill in the wrong answer knowing what the right answer is. Cats "dumped" by their owners in certain locations such as rivers, mountains and shopping centers
C. It wasn't because I didn't understand the material I was being tested on. First, underline any key phrase in the question sentence. This can be attributed to (find the answer that BEST answers this question)
A. Next, look for a pattern. Analyze the question and how you answered it. e. Most adult dyslexics find it amazingly difficult to take a standardized test. Without analyzing prior tests, you will never understand where you went wrong and will incidentally not understand how to correct these issues for future exams. " Once you have answered your own question, underline the key phrases in the sentence.

Instructions

You will constantly need to adjust your life to living with dyslexia, and will constantly need to analyze your life to figure out where you are having dyslexic moments. Without rereading and checking yourself, you are setting yourself up to fail. Having someone near you that can objectively look at the directions to help you may prove to be beneficial to you. If you are a visual person, you should look at a map on Google Earth to get an idea of where you are going before you start driving. As technologies and times change, so will your views of the world and how you interact with the world around you. If you find that this is a characteristic of your dyslexia, e-mail exchanges will prove to be the best ways for you to communicate with others. Studying similar tests will help you get in the mindset of taking the given exam and understanding how the questions will be asked will only help you to succeed.
