Bed bugs are small insects that feed on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded animals. There is a misconception that bed bugs can’t be seen by human eyes. However, it is not true. Adult bed bugs are about 5 mm long which is enough for a human to notice them. These crawling night stalkers invade our homes with a speed of light. They pierce the skin and feed by sucking human blood. After feeding, their body is often swollen and red in color. It is difficult to get rid of them and it requires persistence.
One of the ways to get rid of bed bugs is to kill them with the use of insecticides. There are two types of insecticides than can be used: biological and chemical. Biological insecticides are living organisms that kill bed bugs. These insecticides are safe and easy to use.
How To Get Rid Of Bed Bugs
Most common way used by people in getting rid of bed bugs is to use insecticide to kill them. There are two types of insecticides: chemical and biological. Chemical insecticides quickly kill bugs. However the cost of this insecticide can be high and there is also a danger that some toxic materials remain after use. Biological insecticides are living organisms that kill bed bugs. These insecticides are safe and easy to use. They don't leave any toxic materials.
If using of insecticides doesn’t help or if you want to quickly and effectively get rid of bed bugs, the best way is to use treatments specifically made for this task. There is a spray that instantly cleans away of the bed bug. The spray is easy to use. All you need to do is to apply the light mist to the entire mattress and the bed frame. You also need to remember to spray the bottom of the mattress, mattress buttons and tears. It is recommended that you vacuum thoroughly before using the spray. If the bugs show up after applying the spray it is necessary to repeat the spraying for several days.
You also need to do frequent vacuum cleaning of not only your garment, but also the bedding, mattresses, bed covers etc including cleaning of the premises. Replace the vacuum cleaner bags immediately after the vacuum cleaning so that the bed bugs do not escape to surroundings. You also need to destroy these vacuum cleaner bags immediately after removal. If you are thinking about to replace your mattresses, infested items should be cleaned and bed bugs should be destroyed before you replace mattresses otherwise new mattresses will also be infested.
Prevent Bed Bugs
How does that old saying go, “An ounce of prevention is worth… saving you’re home from 10,000 hungry, blood sucking parasites”, or something like that? Well, when it comes to bed bugs; that should be the rule! Who wants to go through the headache of an infestation, let alone an itchy bed bug bite?
How do you avoid a bed bug infestation, never stay in a hotel, motel, cruise ship, friends house, etc. Seal up your house so there are no cracks, never leave and never let anyone in. How hard can that be? Okay, since that is impossible try these prevention methods… Do not bring infested items into your home. When you travel, check the room. Look for the symptom of a bed bug infestation. Bed bugs will hide in folds and linings of the bed linens.
