Acne is the most common and much hated skin problems by teenagers and adults. Yes, although teenagers are more likely to get acne due to the hormonal changes that come with puberty, but with today hectic and unhealthy lifestyle, many adults are also plagued by acne. When you have acne, you will always look at the mirror wondering when are those pesky things going to go away, you tend to avoid seeing people and just want to lock yourself in a room so that nobody can see you. It's a very annoying and depressing problem.

Many people will resort to medications to solve their acne problem, but this approach is short term and has possible side effects. The key to prevent and get rid of acne once and for all is through lifestyle modification. This approach is more natural and doesn't have any side effect.

Following are some of the steps you can take to live an acne-free life:

1. Eating a healthy and balanced diet

Eat more fruits, vegetables, bread and cereals. Eat less red meat, dairy foods or foods that are high in fat (especially saturated fat) and salt. Eat fish at least two times a week. Fish is a good source of protein and doesn’t have high saturated fat like fatty meat products do.

2. Water therapy

Drink at least 2 liters of water a day. Drinking plenty of water not only can make you feel healthy and clean but also help keep your skin hydrated, it also helps clear the dead cells on your skin.

3. Have enough rest

Try to sleep before 12am every night and sleep at least 7 hours a day. More importantly, sleep well at night. Your body (including skin) is doing self recovery when you sleep. There is simply no medication or doctor in the world that can beat the natural self-recovery given by your own body. If you eat a healthy diet and sleep well every night, you will be living an acne-free life.

4. Exercise regularly

You may have heard this countless times that exercise is good for your health but how can regular exercise help? you get rid off acne. Well, exercise doesn't get rid of acne directly but it causes the body to produce endorphins, chemicals that help you feel more happy and less stress. Exercise also helps you to sleep well at night. Choose aerobic types of exercises such as jogging, brisk walking, swimming, cycling, kickboxing, etc. where you get to move almost every part of your body.

5. Wash your face the right way

Make sure you clean your hands before washing your face. Lather a nickel-sized amount of cleanser between your hands, then use your fingertips gently massage it into your face using a circular motion. Start at the forehead, then move down to the nose and cheeks. Only use cleanser that cantains natural ingredients. Do not use chemical-based ingredients. Check with the lady you bought your cleanser from, if you don't know how to properly wash your face, you could even ask her to teach you. If you're shy, then learn from a book or Internet.

Follow the above mentioned steps religiously and you will have a healthy and acne-free life. Guarantee!

Discover how to get rid of acne naturally without resorting to any expensive product.
