History shows us that the church has failed society and its self in many ways; however, keeping people mired in the ancient anthropomorphic paradigm is perhaps the most debilitating- and devastating.
The firth chapter of Hebrews reminds us that we need to GROW UP, we need to get off the MILK and start using our teeth to east something more substantial than meat. That metaphor was given thousands of years ago and yet the church keeps providing milk and occasionally white crackers which have no nutritional substance.
As a man thinks, ponders, and concentrates from within (his heart) so he becomes (consciousness).
The problem with developing into spiritual "meat eaters" is that many have taken the "Be who you are" to an extreme and scared people. We are NOT God. We have a fragment of God, the nature of the Creator within us, but we're not 100% in charge of our life. Granted we have far more POWER than we are currently exercising. The historical Jesus is said to have told us that we could do even greater things than he did.
Thus if Jesus was the second person of the trinity (God) then so too are we- so the reasoning goes.
I don't go there.
We are co-creators and we have the LAST WORD in many things; however, we don't have the LAST WORD in everything. We were all created for a PURPOSE. We can either fashion our lives within that blueprint (should we decide to even discover what it is), or we can do our own thing, which usually doesn't work out too well. I can CHANGE my world. I can even be a positive factor in helping the WORLD become a better place to live for everyone as a result of the exercise of my Good-God consciousness.
But, having said that, I know I live in an ocean of six billion+ people and I AM NOT GOD!
But, unless the church begins to take people out of the elementary anthropomorphic views of God, the Kingdom is going to continually be postponed and we face the ever increasing dangers of being able to destroy ourselves en mass!
Let's NOT GO THERE, but let us NOT STAY HERE either. It's time to GROW UP!
