Before dealing with the topic of the PLAY in Quran versus Bible versus sciences, it is mandatory to remember that the total words in the Bible are 788,280 while the total words in the Quran are 77,473. It follows that, the Bible is more than 10 times the Quran word-wise. The PLAY is mentioned 45 times in the Bible (KJV) and 19 times in the Quran, i.e. the Bible mentions the PLAY more than two times as does the Quran. In other words, the Bible has the potential of more than 10 times (word-wise) and more than twice (subject-wise) than the Quran to talk about the PLAY.
In this series, the topic of the Play is classified into six parts, herein is the third part, that is Play the harlot in both books

Play the harlot in the Bible:

According to the Bible (KJV), Play the harlot is mentioned 15 times and Play the whore is mentioned three times.

Tamar, Judah's daughter in law is the first woman in the Bible which played the harlot

Genesis 38:24 And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.

However, if the daughter of any priest played the whore she shall be burnt with fire.

Leviticus 21:9
And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.

If a girl gets married and found that she is not virgin, the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she dies.
If this law is well adopted at the present time, how many girls would have been stoned to death?

Deuteronomy 22:21

Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.

his concubine played the whore against him
Judges 19:2
And his concubine played the whore against him, and went away from him unto her father's house to Bethlehemjudah, and was there four whole months.

upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.
Jeremiah 2:20
For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.

thou hast played the harlot with many lovers
Jeremiah 3:1
They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers..

Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she hath played the harlot.

Jeremiah 3:6
The Lord said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.

backsliding Israel committed adultery and her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

Jeremiah 3:8
And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

Jerusalem played the harlot
Ezekiel 16:15
But thou (Jerusalem) didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.

Jerusalem played the harlot

Ezekiel 16:16
And of thy garments thou (Jerusalem) didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.

Jerusalem played the whore

Ezekiel 16:28
Thou (Jerusalem) hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.

Jerusalem played the harlot

Ezekiel 16:41
And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee (Jerusalem) in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.

Aholah played the harlot when she was mine
Mine is referred to the Lord!
Ezekiel 23:5
And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbours,

Aholah's sister, Aholibah which is Jerusalem, multiplied her whore and adultery!

Yet they went in unto her, as they go in unto a woman that playeth the harlot: so went they in unto Aholah and unto Aholibah, the lewd women.

their mother hath played the harlot
Hosea 2:5
For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.

Hosea 3:3
And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee.

Israel plays the harlot
Hosea 4:15
Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Bethaven, nor swear, The Lord liveth.

Play the harlot in the Quran:
The expression of Play the Harlot or Play the Whore is never mentioned in the Quran.
However, the Quran says that:

leave them playing, until they encounter the Day of Judgment.

Surah: 70, Verse: 42

So leave them alone to plunge and play, until they encounter the Day which they are promised;

Avoid those who take their religion as playing.

Surah: 6, Verse: 70

avoid those who take their religion as playing and an amusement and are seduced by the life of this world. admonish them hereby lest a soul be taken by what it has gained, for it has no guardian or intercessor before Allah, and though it offers every ransom, it shall not be taken from it. those are they who are taken for that which they earned. for them a drink of boiling water, a stern punishment for their disbelief.

The life of this world is nothing but a play. while the Everlasting Residence is the Eternal Life, if they but knew.

Surah: 29, Verse: 64

The life of this world is nothing but a diversion and play. Indeed, the Everlasting Residence is the Eternal Life, if they but knew.

Back to the main topic of my series of articles (1- 73); this is my question to you smart readers: "Is the Quran quoted from the Bible "?
