jesus agape love, jesus christ, polygamy, bibe word

by Indra Widaryanto

at the end of the world begins trend marriage to many woman or we known as polygamy.
before we continue, we equalize perception first…polygamy where situation that one man has wife more than one, where is initiative to has wife many come from the man.

ever you ask to your priest? “Sir/Madam, why does Christians disagree with polygamy? while at bible there are many people have wife more than one? ok we answer after we read discussion, does effect of polygamy, where the willing come from man or girl

polygamy beginning origin at bible found at Genesis 4: 19 - lamekh have two wife, Ada and zila. but if you read furthermore what is going on? breed Lamekh be rancorous breed and angry (Genesis 4: 23-24) you see…. Do you want to polygamy now? Ok, we continue

now we are studying from Jewish figure whom we are knowing, are they polygamy or not?

- Abraham (Genesis 16) - doesn't do pure polygamy, because initiative come from Sarah his wife. during the period if there barren woman so that is contemptible a humility for that woman and husband may take a wife to continue breed. Abraham is forced by Sarah to approach Hagar so that Hagar pregnant and birth Ishmael. ok we see the effect of impure polygamy…. breed Isaac ( Christian ) and Ishmael ( Moslem ) always quarrel from the past until know…. But keep relax….God promise is given to Isaac (christian) and his generation…. but at Genesis 23 Abraham get married again…. . this matter has been caused Sarah died, so it’s doesn’t matter if Abraham get married again

- Jacob (Genesis 29) - polygamy impure Jacob because polygamy Jacob not from initiative Jacob but he been cheated by Laban, at the beginning Jacob wants to married Rachel but he married Lea. although polygamy impure but permanent has bad consequence, that is Rachel and lea often quarrel to get Jacob love especially children problem

- 1 Samuel 1 – Elkana bigamous Hana, but because hana barren, so he takes honey (concubine) Penina to devolve the breed. Elkana less explanation (1 Samuel 1: 8) so that Penina often humiliate Hana because he is barren. polygamy always have consequences not good, there always chaos

- has 8 wifes and this matter is initiatively wants poligamy

David forget the commandement of god that king may not married with many women (Deuteronomy 17: 17) so that the alive in inharmonious household. we are who belive in Jesus is a king child, and king child later will be king, it’s mean may not to poligamy… do you agree?
consequence polygamy : bathsheba child was died, amron have a crush his younger sister and rape her, absalom elder brother tamar kill amron because grudge, absalom struggle to oppose David, absalom rape david mistress , absalom at kill yoab, adonia kill salomo (2 Samuel 12,18-10, 2 raj 2: 13-18).

you know guys there is no good testimony about polygamy…. . do you know why does david still to get blessing from god? because David is meek and want to atone when at admonish by God (this is the secret who want be blessed: meek and want to atone )

- salomon (1 Kings 11) has 1000 mistress (wow…. I think salomon can’t remember name all his wifes ) remember Deuteronomy 17: 17? salomon has make a mistaken

Salomon has many wifes caused by politics. in period formerly every colony will give tribute to the King, and one of them is mistress…there for salomon will realize that it all in vain (ecclesiates 2). of so much many wifes, salomon has china wife that is sulami (form love it to unfolded at Song of song).

In Genesis 2: 22-24 god prepares one wife for Adam (monogamy)

Mark 10: 2-11 - man may not divorce the wife. because they are one meat. if divorce and get marry again he not commit adultery

1 Thimoty 3: 2, 12 - god servant only have one wife

titus 1: 6 - god servant only have one wife

efesus 5: 31 - husband and wife is one meat

conclusion

bible / the commandement of god averses polygamy…. support 100% monogamy…. !

Ephesians 5: 33 - love your wife like yourself and wife want to respect the husband.
