Once upon a time in a religion now far from me I used to live by BLIND FAITH primarily because that's what I was taught pleased God. Then I discovered that because 90% of the people believe in God isn't always a good thing. You know, you have to ask the follow up question, "What kind of God". Ah, now that's where the subject gets a bit dicey indeed!

Too many today live on secular slop and religious regimes that produce little real nourishment.

Unfortunately it's those who are sincerely and desperately searching for spiritual truth that can become the most easily manipulated and vulnerable to just the opposite of what they are looking for. Religion is famous for setting up ABSOLUTES. Once something has been determined as LAW and an ABSOLUTE then life is over for all practical purposes in whatever realm that absolute have been applied.

When one person in an argument relates that "God said", what's left to be said?

It is the CERTAINTIES of life that divide, especially when they're not carried out with LOVE. However, faith that's not been TESTED isn't faith but presumed truth. Too many BELIEVE for the sake of believing, because everyone else in the community believes. The world only progresses through loving ANTITHESIS. If we all agree, no growth takes place and that's what is found in way too many churches today.

Synthesis with church leadership is how one is affirmed in today's religious culture.

The head honcho SAYS and if anyone else wants to be promoted in the community they must agree. No questions can be asked that even imply disagreement, and thus the community stagnates into consent without compromise, and congeniality without compassion. We've been given a BRAIN and we have the ability to THINK. If something doesn't make sense, don't come into agreement with it just because someone SAYS!

Blind faith has ended many lives way too prematurely.
