A New study found that some of the blood pressure pills increased the risk of certain cancer. In the spotlight are a common class of drugs called the angio-tensin-receptor blockers or ARBs, which are prescribed for high blood pressure, heart problems and diabetic kidney disease. Looking for cancer related information / Science found that after studying the 60 thousand patients over four years that people taking these drugs were at increased risk of cancer of the lung, Brest and prostate. Doctors says that benefits of these blood pressure drugs do outweigh the risk, and its too soon to say whether all blood pressure medicines have link to cancer. Meanwhile the drug controller general of India has reportedly cancelled the registration of 10 Chinese drug companies preventing the import of raw material from them because their products don't meet drug manufacturing standards. As a result there could be a shortage of a few drugs as the raw materials are used to make pain-killers and anti-infective drugs.
