Physical features of women that are often thought of to be kept and maintained well are the breasts. It is this part that is always tried to keep in good form and appearance as it either boosts or lowers a woman's self-esteem. Even in beauty enhancement, women favor the breasts to undergo cosmetic procedures to improve its appearance.

There are various reasons for the sagging of breasts. One cause that is referred to is the loss of weight of the woman. Since the breast area is covered with body fat, this is lost at the moment that weight is lost. The skin holding up the fats have nothing no hold now so there is tendency because of gravitational force that the skin is pulled down causing sagging.

Another cause of breast sagging that is thought of is the effect breastfeeding. The degree of sagging is thought to be determined by how much breastfeeding the woman had done. This is not at all proven yet because if is also believed that breastfeeding may not have contributed much to the sagging of breasts.

The size of woman's breasts differs according to the body structure and genes. There are those that have bigger breasts these kinds of breasts are the ones most likely to experience sagging comparing it to those that are smaller. The size of brassieres that women use depends also on the breast size and shape. It is during pregnancy that breast becomes enlarged caused by the mammary glands producing milk for breastfeeding. The type of brassieres used at this stage is also larger with higher BMI which is believed to have caused the breasts to sag.

Referring to health issues, studies have shown that a woman with a history of smoking may have tendencies for breasts to sag. The number of pregnancies may also cause the breasts to sag. It has also been found that breast sagging could not have been caused by the number of children that the mother had nursed nor is the weight gain at the time of pregnancy has any effect on shape of the breast.

It is to be believed then that mothers should be made aware that breastfeeding or nursing a baby after pregnancy should still be practiced and should not be a form of worry to women that it will cause sagging breasts or end to youthful-looking breasts. This is a study divulged by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Pregnant women should put their worries aside as to whether to nurse their babies or not because doing so will not affect the way the breasts look like.

The consciousness of women to have breast lifts has increased dramatically at about 96% within a six-year period. This is just an indication how important women want to have their breasts looking good. It is also an accepted fact, practically and medically, that breastfeeding is the better option against bottle feeding for infants and that mothers should take the chance to breastfeed. It has the best effects for the mothers and for the infants as those that had been breastfed remain healthy and resistant to sickness compared to those that had been formula-fed.
