For the majority of people, acne is a thing that we have to put up usually in the years when we are teenagers. Can you think back to when you noticed that pimple on your nose right before prom? Remember when the stress of tests or the greasy school lunches would result in huge breakouts for all those social occasions? For the majority of us, the days of acne are in the past. But for bodybuilders and trainers that take anabolic steroids to achieve physical perfection, acne is an everyday part of their lives.

The Cause of Acne
The skin has sebaceous glands in it, and these glands contain receptors, like the majority of organs and cells the body have. Just like the muscle cells react to steroids by developing the area, the sebaceous glands react with higher levels of secretion. So if the teenager with naturally high testosterone levels breaks out with acne, then the guy in his late thirties that contains artificially high testosterone levels will break out with acne for the exact same reasons. The greater amount of steroids taken will result in greater levels of testosterone in the body, which also causes more acne breakouts.

The End of Acne
There is light at the end of the tunnel. When the body is once again producing natural and normal levels of testosterone, the sebaceous glands will also go back to regular levels of production, and the acne will cease. But some AI/SERMs that are used after a cycle of steroids is stopped can result in higher testosterone, which means the acne might come back.

Treating Acne
A various selection of treatment methods are used to help with acne depending on how much acne there is on the body. At first, easy use of often cleanings with soap and water can really help clean out the pores. If it needs to be taken to the next level, there is a ton of unique soaps and topical creams out there that help to reduce acne and keep it away. For the majority, showering more often and wiping down the irritated areas with a clean towel will get rid of a lot of the acne. On the other hand, the more intense users, those who have weight problems, or those who simply have a greater response with worse side effects, an over-the-counter oral medicine could be necessary.

There are many drugs that help with acne. But prior to adding them to your routine, you should see a doctor to make sure that your body won't have any negative drug interactions. The steroids you are using supplemented by acne medication have the potential to be very toxic to the body. So keep clean and be careful!
