It is distasteful but true thatpanic attacks children! It is more agonizing because they are innocent and highly vulnerable. Most parents think that their children are under no pressure of bearing life's responsibilities, meaning they are kept away from stress and worry. But this is more a misconception than reality, in factChild Panic Attacksactually effect children, but the nature of how they effect and form is a little different.

The effects ofpanic attacksand related anxiety are far more devastating to children than adults. What causespanic attacks in childrenthough?

Panic attacks in children are often linked to very young children and their entire lives can be turned upside down by this unpleasant experience. For young children that cannot fully communicate with words yet, the experience can be one that puzzles parents too. They may even punish a child thinking they are acting out or having a temper tantrum.

The fear of being "different" may keep a child from telling anyone about them. The more often a child experiences these attacks, the more shefearsthe next one. This very fear brings on the next attack and the next. The panic may first appear in a classroom, then in a grocery store, then in a movie theater. Suddenly, the child fears all public buildings. Thisfearcan become so globalized that the child soon resists leaving her home or her room. These fears and anxieties can quickly escalate and evolve into a crippling, life-threatening disorder.

The first step that you must take and understand is that your child needs you. While there could be various factors that could trigger mostpanic attacks in children, only one thing is for sure: your child needs and deserves you. More often than not, being separated from their parent is one of the most strongest reasons that could lead topanic attacks in children.And, the only way to help your child is that you take personal responsibility for this. You cannot blame your work or your activities; it is you who make these decisions, you applied for a job, and opt for these activities.

When you notice your child is having difficulty coping withstress and anxiety, seek out the advice of a therapist. With your help, the therapist can narrow down what the triggers are that set your child off. This means you'll need to be observant all the time (before an attack, during the attack and after the attack is done). You and the therapist will notice patterns emerging that envelop the attacks. If the child goes to school and/or daycare, the administrators/providers will need to document this all as well.

A child is meant to run free in the playground, not cowering behind the bushes scared of having anotherpanic attack. One of the best gifts you can give to your child is a happy childhood; stop him from having a panic attack and you give just that.

You must also change your diet. If they see that you are still binging on soda and chocolate chips, they would not be motivated to do the change. The whole house hold must pitch in. This kind of change is a collective effort. Also, do the breathing exercises together.

Lastly,panic attacks in kidscan also be cause by their personality. Either your child is naturally aloof, or you raised him or her to be that way, that kind of personality can actually lead to the disorder. When a child is aloof, he or she will find it difficult to express him or herself. When a child has no means of releasing his or her anger, negative emotions pile up and will cause them a lot ofstress.
