Chocoholics Anonymous Admitting that you have an addiction to chocolate that is negatively impacting your life brings up the case for becoming a member of Chocoholics Anonymous. Here are a few tips for becoming a member of your own personal chapter of Chocoholics Anonymous. - Admit you have a problem:' " I ( insert name) admit that I am a Chocoholic."
- Enlist one or two sponsors who will support you no matter what throughout your journey to overcoming your own addiction to chocolate. Ensure you have their best possible contact details so you can reach out in times of emergency.
- Find a small group of other chocolate addicts who are prepared to become a part of your chapter so that you can support and love each other through this. By having a group of people who know exactly how you feel is a priceless and vital factor in helping you to succeed in overcoming your addiction.
- Set a regular date for you all to meet: be it in person or on the phone; as this will help you all to schedule time in your week and keep you accountable to each other during your journey.
- Start to monitor your chocolate eating habits through noting them down in detail; namely the time, the amount and your feelings before, during and after eating it.
- Write down an exciting vision of just how you will feel transformed once you have overcome your addiction to chocolate. You might like to create a pictorial representation of this too, with pictures of how you would look and feel, and where you might be once you have cracked this addiction. By having Chocoholics such a exciting image to work towards it will help you to keep going when you are finding it uncomfortable as you are letting go of what no longer serves you; such a low self-esteem.
