This is a social institution as stipulated in the bible. It is supposed to be holy such that they are virgin .They take vows before God and family lead by a priest. The Bible says that even the priest must have a happy stable family otherwise if he can’t lead his own home it will not be possible to lead church. Believer are allowed to marry a believer, Paul said in (2 cor 6:14-15)"how can darkness and light stay together", You as temple of God you cannot stay with a liar. So it is a sin to marry unbeliever as you may end up just like them. There are saying that says "tell me your friend and will tell who you are". As human there are those behaviors that we acquire from those close to us. Just like the way you put spoilt tomato to good ones and eventually the all perish. Christian divorce is highly discouraged and the only biblical cause of divorce is adultery. In this case it is a sin and also will lead to death of marriage. Surprisingly, if your spouse is not adulterous and is very abusive, you may have to live with that forever. In Anglican Church you will only be allowed to remarry if your spouse is dead but if you are divorcee and spouse is still alive you will not be allowed to remarry. However, if you are in abusive marriage, you will be allowed to separate but not divorce. Paul says (1Cor.7.10–11) that a couple should not separate without getting divorced, since married couples are meant to stay together. If in today’s marriage we follow that, many people will suffer emotionally and physically in hands of an abusive partner.
