Chronic bloating can be a deal breaker. Dealing with bloating on a daily basis can seriously impede your way of life. How can constant bloating effect your life? Here are a few ways.

Due to Water Retention

Retaining water is one of the most common causes of bloating. When your body decides that it needs to keep some water close, it traps the water from your food in deposits under your skin and keeps it there until it needs it. Sure, sometimes there really isn't a need to retain water, but your body does strange things sometimes. In the case of water retention, chronic bloating can cause some people to feel fatigued and actually cause them to gain some weight. When experiencing chronic with a side of weight gain, it can take you hours to find something that fits. When scouring your closets looking for something to wear, just keep in mind that there are treatments available to water retention. Taking a diuretic, or water pill, can cause your body to lose its hold on all the retained water; as the water drains away, so does the weight gain keeping you out of your favorite clothes.

Due to Gastrointestinal Disorders

Sometimes chronic bloating is caused by water retention, and sometimes it is caused by something a little more serious. Chronic can be caused by problems in your stomach, or by something wrong further along in your digestive tract. The human digestive system is a well oiled machine, and when that machine gets a clog, or when irritation occurs, bloating is a natural side-effect. Treating chronic in this case is a little more complicated than just going to the store to pick up something. When it comes to chronic caused by stomach or intestinal disorders, you will have to see your doctor or a specialist for treatment.

Due to Stress

With the ever accelerating world of deadlines, departure times, conferences, and just trying to "find time" people are getting stressed. Chronic bloating can be a side effect of all that stress taking its toll on your body. Dealing with stress is a little more complicated than some may think. Figuring out what is causing your stress is the first step to dealing with it. When your stress is built up enough to cause physical symptoms, it is very important that you deal with your stress in a way that is beneficial to your mind, spirit and body. When it comes to dealing with stress, there are some steps you can take to alleviate your stress and get your chronic under control. You can see a counselor or psychologist that deals specifically with stress, or you can find someone with a general practice. There are some medications you can take, but it's recommended that you see a doctor first.

Chronic bloating is chronic, but it can be treated with the right methods.
