If you are a smoker, I would be willing to bet that you can easily come up with the Pros associated with cigarette smoking. As for the Cons, you may not be aware of them, until some one actually takes the time to point them out. We will discuss Cigarette Smoking Pros and Cons here.
Cigarette Smoking Pros
I can come up with approximately 3 pros associated with smoking cigarettes. I can always remember my grandmother telling me why she got into smoking cigarettes. Surprisingly, the pros are much the same today as they were in the 1940's through the 1960's when everyone' was smoking.
1) It makes you look cool and/or sexy.
2) It is an icebreaker at parties and pretty much any social gathering where others smoke.
3) It can really calm your nerves in a high stress situation.
While the pro's aren't really earth-shattering, at one point in time, if you didn't smoke; you just did not fit in. You had to smoke to be accepted in American Society.
Cigarette Smoking Cons
As for the cons associated with cigarette smoking, there are so many I can't possibly cover them all here. I will list them here as a quick reference for you:
1) It makes breathing very difficult.
2) You cough constantly.
3) Bad breath and yellow teeth.
4) It is associated with lung cancer and many other debilitating health issues.
5) Smoke from cigarettes is not only stinky, the second hand smoke has proven dangerous.
6) It is no longer widely accepted as a social ice breaker.
7) Public places strongly discourage smokers from lighting up in nearly every state.
