DPS have an online seminar to give solicitors an overview of the Ministry of Justice changes and how they will be affected. This shows how the DPS system is being developed to cope with these changes. In particular they demonstrate how DPS case management will integrate with the Claim Notification Form and how the software will tackle the various stages of the process. The new process is due to roll out on the 6th of April 2010 and solicitors need to register for the portal so that they are ready to use it. The new system is designed only for road traffic accident claims where the value of the loss or damages is between £1,000 and £10,000, this estimated to include up to 500,000 claims per annum. It is expected that the system will be used by approximately 5,000 Claimant Representatives, 100 Insurers and 1,000 Self Insured/Compensators. The claims process streamlines personal injury claims so that they are completed in less than 12 weeks from start to finish. Clearly this is for volume claim handlers and so a system to track and monitor such claims is essential. This is where the DPS system comes into it's own, available inside outlook it automates the process and deals with claims for road traffic accidents, disease, slip and trip, and accidents at work. With a complete process for each their system has a full bank of templates and processes. Underlying the system is a contacts database that stores all the information about every contact used on every matter and information about them. This database stores details of experts, other solicitors, insurers and all other parties meaning that their details are entered once and used throughout every matter.
