Balding affects millions of people. Many of them are not happy with their balding or the way that it looks. There are many different ways that balding can happen and for many different reasons. These reasons can even differ between men and women. This can vary from crown balding, patchy balding, receding hairline and even thinning all over the head. Crown balding happens in many different types of hair loss. It can be prevented if you know the causes and signs to look for. Just about any different cause of hair loss can make you go bald at the crown, though genetic hair loss is the most common culprit of this. Sometimes crown balding is the result of not getting treatment for your hair loss soon enough. If left untreated, hair loss in most cases will just continue to worsen. There are a couple different causes of patchy hair loss. Alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder, in which the immune system attacks the hair, is a cause of patchy bald spots. Scalp ringworm can also cause this as well. Folliculitis, an inflammation of the hair follicle, which leads to infection and eventually balding around the infection can cause bald patches to appear. Trichtillomania is another way a person can have this balding pattern. A person compulsively pulling their hair out causes it. Receding hairline is the main trait of androgenic alopecia. This is also referred to as male pattern baldness and common baldness and is genetic. This condition will only cause men to bald in this pattern. What this condition does is cause the body to create an excess of DHT, which attacks the follicle until it dies and will not produce any more hair. The hairline with this condition usually only recedes until it has covered the top of the head or crown. It will usually leave the sides and back unharmed. There are many treatments for this form of hair loss though. Even thinning all over the head is the most common way that women lose their hair. It happens with androgenic alopecia and even with hormonal imbalances. When your hormones are not in balance, many different systems in the body suffer. The most common hormonal imbalances a woman faces are after giving birth and with menopause. After giving birth, the body is trying to regulate the hormones again and this can cause the hair loss. In menopause, a woman's body goes through a major change which can cause hair loss. The nice thing about hormonal imbalances is that once your hormones level off, your hair loss problems should go away as well. No matter what the cause or type of hair loss you have, catching as soon as possible is the best way to treat it. There are many different treatment solutions to treat the many different causes of hair loss you may face. Your doctor can help you find the correct course of action to take and should be the consulted at the first signs of hair loss.
