One has to come into terms with the reality that the cure for tinnitus has not yet been found. This is evidenced by the fact that about 17% of the world population is afflicted with tinnitus.

Hence, medical practitioners who have more practical views give advice that only the tinnitus sufferer can provide his own cure. This can be done by reversing the negative effects of the tinnitus syndrome.

Here are some changes in your lifestyle you may want to consider:

1. Tinnitus being a sign of health disorder is often related to poor blood circulation. Blood circulation associated with hypertension or hypotension is related to unhealthy eating habits, excessive drinking, smoking, lack of exercise and/or experiencing too much stress. Since these are all negative factors, simply adopt all their positive counterparts in order to attain positive results as well.

2. Avoid giving in to anxiety attacks or obliterate all depressive thoughts in your mind or take the idea of insanity out of your head. The cure for tinnitus may not be in existence as of yet,but appreciate the fact that you can still hear at least partially which is better than total loss of hearing ability. Take on some mind re-training exercises that will teach you techniques on how you can push back the ringing sounds behind your mind.

3. Take up lip-reading lessons from those who are actually hearing-impaired or deaf. This group of people have been successful in overcoming their deafness not only by learning how to lip-read but also on how to form sounds with their mouth.

Lip-reading has enabled them to carry on with conversations just like any individual whose senses are completely functioning. Besides, if you will focus your mind on lip-reading, this exercise will allow you to focus your mind on something else.

4. Take-up yoga classes or other forms of relaxation therapies not as cure for tinnitus but your form of self-help in dealing with stress as they come along. You will also come into terms with the fact that you have been through all sorts of problems in your lifetime; taking on some more will no longer be worthwhile to get stressed about.

These are only few of the suggestions on how to come up with your own cure for tinnitus. As the tinnitus sufferer, examine your own conditions and formulate your own cure for tinnitus as they apply to your personal surroundings.
