Being a teenager is considered the nicest thing in this world. A teenager is neither too young to be guided by parents for each and everything nor is he old enough to be left alone to face the world. Thus it is a very vulnerable age and is thus the duty of parents to make sure that their children follow the right track in life. It is at this age that children fall in some bad company and spoil themselves completely. It is very important for a person to choose the right friends in life and the duty of the parents is to help them and guide them in doing so. Thus it is always advised to be friends with your children. There are no set guidelines or instructions or guidelines to deal with your teenage kids. It depends from child to child and the company the child is into. Try and be friends with the kids so that they are comfortable enough to share everything with their parents and thus can be prevented from committing any sorts of mistake. There are no books available in the market that can guide the teenager. It is by experience either their own or their teenager’s experience that helps them takes the right decision in life. The major difficulty with the teenagers is their questions and identity issues. There are a number of questions that keeps troubling them thus bringing a drastic change in their personality and making them altogether a different person. There are many questions that trouble them a lot. The questions can be like analyzing self stating what am I or may be confusions regarding their career or may be their role models and sometimes questions can be raised on their own identity. Such questions frustrate a person to a great extent and leave a person perplexed in a number of situations and cases. Issues may be raised regarding the self esteem. Teenagers generally have an ego problem and boost to have a high self esteem which is nothing but fake attitude and boost ness. Teenagers generally try to live in a dream and unrealistic world where they just want to feel good about themselves. The children of this age have a lot of fantasies and they live in their fantasy world only. They do not want to face the harsh realities of life and thus suffer a lot because of this attitude. Some suffer from inferiority complex comparing themselves with their friends. The issues or points of comparison can be as small as a cell phone or may be even clothes. Thus it is the duty of the parents to make their children face the reality and make them strong enough to be proud of their belongings. Being a parent of a child who has just entered his teens is really very difficult. It is actually an art to handle such children. A lot of patience is required otherwise one may find the child turning rebellious. Be calm and patient and never be harsh and do not punish your child. Sit and make him understand where he is wrong.
