Today I was frustrated myself. The reason: I need help with my article writing. I can write a bit in English. But my writing is not perfect at all. So I need my friend Jan to correct it. He promised to do so and he does. But sometimes I wake him up and put his laptop next to him in his bed. Because I need him to quickly correct some articles. As in every frustration there are a few solutions for me. I am happy with him because this way I will get it done faster than when I first learn better English. So I can go on like this. A better way is that 1. I really study his corrections at the same time so eventually he has less work to do, while my English is improving. And I do some breathing exercises to cope wit my frustration. There were more solutions for this frustration. I always try to find seven possible solutions and then choose one or two of them. 2. Ask somebody else to do my corrections. In fact I do have someone else. 3. Stop writing articles in English and go on with only Dutch. 4. Publish the articles without correction. Work harder on my English 5. Just be patient and admit fewer articles. 6. Follow an English writing course. 7. Put more energy into submitting my articles to other article directories, so I don't have to rush him. At the same time let go of the thought that I have to write so much, with extra time I'll do more in Dutch Anyway I will still have to deal with my frustration. What do I need for my happiness? Yes I am happy writing and helping people and I do want to. So I choose solutions that enable me to go on writing. (1 and 7) I can see that I can do a lot about my frustration myself.
Then I think about you, my reader. You are probably in a much more frustrated situation than I am. Maybe you are in a wheelchair. You always have to ask people to help you. Some things you can learn to do by yourself. But for most tasks you really need help. What is your solution? Don't just say 'leave it.' I think you will have to do three things. (and so do I and everyone in a frustrating situation!) 1. Keep on asking for the things that you don't want to give up! 2. Find new things to do. Find something you can do. 3. Do your breathing exercises and meditation and experience that you can be happy, even when you are in a wheelchair. (or any other very frustrating situation.)
