Most of us have a daily moisturizer or body lotion as a staple part of our skin care routine. Body lotions have proved to invaluable at keeping your skin looking and feeling youthful and soft to the touch, but how exactly does that happen and how safe are some of the most popular body lotions? It may be surprising to hear, but many of the most commonly used moisturizers are actually made with ingredients that aren't exactly meant for human skin and are known to cause a plethora of negative side effects or serious complications.

Many body lotions claim that supply the skin with essential nutrients and nourishing moisture but in reality it's actually quite the opposite. Ingredients like Mineral Oil and Propylene Glycol are supposed to be beneficial moisturizers and are common ingredients in everything from body lotions to deodorants. Both are used to lock in moisture and leave the skin feeling soft and supple but how they go about it isn't exactly safe. By sucking moisture from the inner layers of the skin and bringing it to the surface, Mineral Oil and Propylene Glycol actually dehydrate the skin. The barrier that locks in moisture also prevents the skin from breathing properly which promotes a buildup of toxins that fail to be flushed.

Anther common ingredient in many of the most popular body lotions is artificial fragrances. Artificial fragrances offer little benefit to a moisturizer other than a nice smell, which nine times out of ten is incredibly too strong. In addition to being overbearing, artificial fragrances are known to cause severe allergic reactions resulting in difficulty breathing, rashes, painful burns, peeling, swelling, migraines, irritation, inflammation and dizziness.

If you want to safely and effectively nourish and hydrate your skin without risking your health than look for a body lotion that's made with top of the line organic ingredients like Super Sterol Liquid. Super Sterol Liquid is an exceptional moisturizer that is comprised of various organic cholesterols and fatty acids. Super Sterol Liquid is so amazing because it actually mimics the skin's lipid system which controls hydration levels in the skin as well as creating a barrier that protects the skin from damage without suffocating the skin.

Make sure that you always thoroughly do your research before putting anything on your skin; read body lotion reviews written by actual consumers in order to compare and contrast various body lotions and moisturizers. Consulting a dermatologist or talk to friends and family and see if any of them can recommend the best body lotion for you.
