There is an endless amount of teeth whitening products on the market today that promise to whiten your teeth. Ten years ago, most whitening products were nothing more than a fad, that often ended up providing little, if any value to the consumer. Nowadays, almost all teeth whitening products will offer you varying degrees of whitening results. To name a few: toothpastes, mouthwash, at home bleaching products, in office dental procedures and laser treatments -- are all available options that vary in affordability to most consumers.
Whitening Toothpaste
A solid whitening toothpaste is a great part of any regimen. Most of these products contain peroxide, or some other form of oxygen activated product that penetrates tooth stains and effectively bleaches them. Many of these products will also likely contain baking soda, which acts as a mild abrasive to scrub stains from your teeth. There are also a variety of quality herbal ingredients that can be found in high quality whiteners. All in all, many of these toothpastes are an excellent way to whiten slightly dull teeth, or maintain your pearly white luster after using more powerful teeth whitening products.
Whitening Mouthwash
Just like whitening toothpastes, you will find many whitening mouthwash products that contain many of the same ingredients. Most utilizing peroxide or other herbal oxygenating ingredients that lighten tooth stains. The key thing to remember is that they are great for slightly stained teeth, or as a maintenance product, as harsher ingredients can't be applied in a controlled manner with pastes and mouthwash products.
Teeth Whitening Products For Home Use
You can find many home remedies that include peroxide based bleaching kits, along with natural herbal based products that have been proven to give similar results. These products tend to work over the course of a few days, or a week and will give you a bright white smile when you're finished.
Office Dental Procedures
If you're planning to use harsh bleaching products or laser treatments, the dental office is the best place to have these done. Most in office dental procedures will generally give you great results in a single day, however you will pay more for faster results.
