It is a surprising fact that snoring a very common factor in relationship problems. For the non-snoring partner the noise (which can at times be extremely loud) can lead to frustration and a severely interrupted sleep pattern. Inevitably, it is most often the female partner who suffers with being kept awake by their male partner because more men snore than women. The snoring can get worse as people get older or with weight gain.

In fact, snoring has been shown to be a significant factor in divorce proceedings. It might be that there are some existing underlying problems in the relationship, but it becomes significantly more difficult to address these when patience is strained through tiredness. Often the non-snoring partner will blame the snorer for their sleepless nights, even though they know that this not something that have any control over.

Many couples find that a pattern emerges where the non-snoring partner gets so frustrated with having a sleepless night, they end up going to another room to sleep. With some couples, they give up on the idea of sleeping in the same room and end up sleeping separately. This ultimately damages the level of intimacy within the relationship which can lead to the couple growing apart.

Often the snorer believes that there is nothing that they can do about their snoring so they choose not to take any action. The non-snoring partner, out of frustration and lack of sleep will find it difficult to discuss the issue in manner that is sensitive and the discussion all too easily reduces to blaming one another for the situation. This clearly needs to be avoided.

Perhaps this is a situation that you recognise? If this is the case and you want to address snoring in your relationship then you need to take action. There are in fact a number of highly effective snoring remedies available, most only require a very small cost. With surprisingly little effort you can return your relationship to the good state it was in prior to snoring becoming a feature.
