I know I know, you have tried a million times. Quitting smoking can sometimes feel like you really do not think you will stand a chance at kicking the habit. The knack is, not to chuck it all in but knuckle down even more and in those moments when you feel like its pointless will be the win you have been searching for. You know you want to quit because you would not be here right now. You'll have your good and bad days, everyone who ever had to go through the pain of quitting has had them as well. Get over this hump and the rest will be childs play.

The isolating factor that sets quitting an addiction for example smoking apart from most other things, is that you dont really ever get a final nod from the judges saying its finished. Let me give you an example. Take the hundred metre hurdles, when we finish the race we know its over because we passed the finish line. Its the end, we can relax, its over. Quitting smoking though, when is that officially finished? You hear the term, once a smoker always a smoker.

Well, thats not really fair for someone who has not smoked for twenty years, to have that statement put upon them. That is a no win situation that will only result in a set back. Talk about abandoning hope all ye who enter here. Thats the wrong way to go about it. Maybe if someone has not touched a cigarette in say, a decade, I think maybe they can safely say they are officially a non smoker.

Its the relapses that one truly has to be vigilant against though. Its the late night parties out with friends and family at the nightclubs that are really going to let you find out what your made of.

Another thing to bear in mind is people who talk too much about other peoples shortcomings. You usually find they have something they are not happy with about themselves. So, don't let Mr self opinionated get a step up the ladder on you, learn to keep your own court. You'll win through.

One thing you need to ask yourself. Have I actually taken any steps towards giving up the smokes? There are a multitude ways to go about it, local discussion groups for instance. Take steps toward quitting, set yourself a small goal everyday. Make today the day that everything changes. Theres no need for you to feel like your in a hopless situation, thousands give up successfully year in year out. Keep at it and the results will happen, maybe not instantly but they will.

There is a global community out there waiting for you with genuine help and advice. Make today the day that it all happens. Why not Keep your smokes in your pocket for a few more hours before you light up your next one, your smokes are still where they always are, remain calm, they're not going anywhere. Give it a go, you'll be amazed at yourself. Just think, in a years time, you'll be richer, healthier and have a longer life ahead of you.
