Since individuals are genetically predisposed toEating Disorders, a new diet resolution can be dangerous.

Instead of dieting, see if the person predisposed to an eating disorder will consider a lifestyle change as a healthy alternative to starting a new diet.

Here are some suggestions for a healthy alternative to a new diet.  Looking for positive changes, no matter how small, all add up to a mentally and physically better you.

1.  Instead of a diet, comtemplate a "body movement" based lifestyle change.  A dance class, a kickboxing session, aerobics, bellydancing, or yoga are all suggestions that might be interesting.

2.  Surrounding yourself with positive people who have healthy relationships with themselves; food, weight and body acceptance.

3.  Remove all "bad food, good food" words from your vocabulary.  Moderation is the key here.  Stay positive!

4.  Don't compare yourself with others.  We are all unique individuals and that's what makes it a better world.  Be happy with who and what you are and celebrate the differences.

5.  Take a moment each day to pick out a person in your "space" and offer them a very sincere non-body focused compliment.  When you start taking the time to focus on others and making them feel better about themselves,YOUfeel better for giving something good to someone else.

Basically, the old saying "what goes around comes around" runs true to this day.  Anytime you make someone else feel good, that feeling will come back around and wrap itself around you.  The more you spread those good feelings to others, the more often you will feel good about yourself.

It doesn't take very long for this habit to become a part of your daily routine and you won't even have to think about it, you will just do it.  And you will keep getting those feelings sent back towards yourself by others.

It's a nice feeling.
