Eric is finding it difficult to cope with his study schedule. As the final exams near, he finds himself cramming for them. This also greatly affects the quality and submission of his academic projects. Basically, his whole schedule is a huge mess.
In case you happen to be a college going student and face problems a lot like Eric, your problem is bad time management.
A student is associated with busy schedules. The professors assign mountains of assignments; you happen to be a part of the dance company, among other things a student's expected to do.
One has so many things to do and never enough time to complete it in. This is a widespread problem almost all college students face. It is very difficult to do everything a student wants to do without affecting his studies. But by trying to, they end up messing up everything.
How does a student find time to all of his academic work? The best thing they could do to avoid being slowed down is to carefully track their time. Record the various things you do throughout the day which take you to your objectives.
Keep in mind that management of time is vital to be successful in life as a college student. In case you still not sure about how to sort out your schedule, maybe it is time you gifted yourself a time calendar.
Time Calendar System
The time calendar is a lot like the normal calendar people use in their homes. But this is personalized to help you follow your activities and includes the specifics of the activities.
You also should take down notes. College going students use schedules that have a long term outlook on time.
Many different time scales are available which you can use.

Time Calendar with Year Scale
It could be a little difficult to remember the things to be done six months later when looking at today's activity. The best thing to do is to plan ahead with the year broken up into months. This will help you keep track of long term goals as well as your long term objectives.
For example, if your project is due in the next 2 months, you could split that up into smaller time frames with smaller objectives leading to the culmination of your project.
Time Calendar with Monthly Scale
This is segregated by the days in every month and usually has deadlines, important appointments, exam dates etc. that will take place in that month.
Add your own deadlines to personal appointments with friends to ensure that your college schedule is not ruined.
Time Calendar with Weekly Scale
A lot of students prefer a weekly time scale as it is easy to update. This usually includes your daily appointments and deadlines. For example your weekly group study session can be recorded here.
Daily to-do List
This is to get you moving towards your goals on a daily basis. All it takes is 10 minutes of your time the previous night.
Look into your calendar for the next couple of weeks to deter mine what has to be done the next time. Also, remember to carry it along wherever you go.
• Constantly revise your to-do list. Prioritize each item by importance and do away with unnecessary activities.

• Schedule time to brush up on academics each day. This will help you organize your academics and project work. Organizing your academics prevents you from cramming and streamlines your work.

• Adapt. Expect that interruptions are possible in any activity resulting in its cancellation.
Planning your college schedule and use of the calendar of your choice will greatly improve your time management skills.
So make a time calendar and keep it on your person all the time.
