Formal season is ahead of us ladies, and the one question every girl is asking is: "What are you wearing?" With everyone shopping at the same department stores and boutiques, how can one stand out?
Just blending in with the crowd can sometimes be worse than being the worst dressed, because at least the worst dressed stands out.
Money is another problem. The end of the semester is coming up and bank accounts are dwindling low. Few have the money to buy a fabulous, expensive dress.
"I love going to semi-formals and formals, but I hate having to find something to wear at the last minute," FSU junior Kaitlyn Bleich said. "With all the pressure I never seem to find a dress I absolutely love and I always spend more than I want to."
Well, a new solution is available for FSU women.
"The name of the company is Closet Elite and it is essentially to women what tux rentals have been to men," Closet Elite owner and FSU senior Sakina Walsh said. "It is an online service that rents top designer dresses for special occasions at a fraction of the cost."
Not only does Closet Elite help solve the problem of finding the perfect dress, but it also has expensive dresses available for cheap prices. Closet Elite carries only the top designers such as Versace, Prada, Betsey Johnson and Marciano at rental prices ranging from $30 to $150.
"Women know they only get to wear a special occasion dress a couple times, yet these events are the ones where they typically need to dress to impress and they want to look their best," Walsh said.
Customers find a dress on the Web site and place the order online. After receiving and painting the town red in the dress, it can be slipped into the prepaid, pre-addressed mailer and dropped off at any DHL location.
"Closet Elite is the first company of its kind, and while it currently has a local emphasis, it is a nationwide service," Walsh said.
