Many of us are worried about our financial resources when it comes to paying our medical expenses when we get older or if we happen to have physical disability. You are well aware if the ever increasing costs in medical care and while we are undergoing a financial crisis, medical care is a necessary element for survival- it is simply indispensable. The government is well aware of this fact. To address this circumstance, the government has come up with a program to provide financial assistance for the aged and people with disability. We are referring to medicare gov. The program has specific criteria for eligibility. These include being over 65 years of age, with disability if under 65 years of age and with permanent kidney failure with no particular age consideration. Medicare program is not really for free as the beneficiary needs to pay a certain premium which is equivalent to a certain tax percentage deducted from his or her wage. The only exception to this comes when the individual does not have any work, in which case he or she should contact the social security agency situated locally for support as the state can shoulder the premium. Disabled individuals who are initially receiving free Medicare premium entitlement would also have to pay this premium once they decide to return to work. The premium differs based on one’s location and circumstances so contacting the local social security agency will help in knowing the actual amount one has to pay for the premium. Old age and disability are just two conditions which make it hard for any individual to look for the proper source of funds to source out the amount they would have to dispense in case of needs.
