Many of us wake up in the morning and go to work without really understanding why we are so tired and sleepy. The general misconception is that the tired individual just didn't get a good night's sleep. Well most likely than not the person might be experiencing sleep apnea during their sleep. Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder characterized by pauses in breathing during sleep. Each apnea episode lasts long enough so that one or more breaths are missed, and such episodes occur repeatedly throughout sleep. An apnea episode is typically a minimum 10 second interval between breaths, with either a neurological arousal, a blood oxygen desaturation of 3-4% or greater, or both arousal and desaturation. A great medical device to truly understand why you are so tired and out of energy all day is to utilize a Sleep Apnea Unit Wrist Pulse Oximeter .

A pulse oximeter is a small, hand-held medical device that measures the oxygen saturation of a patient's blood as well a patient's heart rate. As opposed to measuring oxygen saturation through an invasive procedure such as a blood sample, a pulse oximeter is used as a painless and non-invasive medical instrument. Because of their ease of use, speed, and cost effectiveness, pulse oximeters are the preferred medical device in all healthcare settings as well as for home diagnostics.

The FDA approved Landon Medical PC-68B Sleep Apnea Unit Wrist Pulse Oximeter provides spot check measurements of oxygen saturation of arterial hemoglobin. It monitors SpO2 (percentage of oxygen saturation in the blood) and pulse rate while sleeping or during other daily activities.  The PC-68B features a multi-color OLED display along with Perfusion Index, Plethysmograph capabilities, 72 hour data storage and optional data management software for storage onto computers. The PC-68B is widely used in home health-care facilities, sleep apnea centers, hospitals, as well as in the home to treat a wide variety of illnesses including CPAP, COPD, and many more...

Once the data is stored on the pulse oximeter unit you can share it with you physician to determine whether you are experience sleep apnea during sleep and based on the date what would be the best treatment for your sleep apnea.
