Although common, acne is a serious skin disorder that affects not only the skin but also self confidence. It is also the source of frustration for millions of people around the world. Why does it happen to some people even after the teenage years? This article will help you avoid some of the causes and minimize the recurring of acne.

Researching on the Internet often doesn't help you much. There seems to be so much contradictory information about acne. That proves that acne itself is more complex than just a simple blemish. Does anyone have a possible solution? Is it possible to cure it once and for all?

To start with, it is important to understand the cause of acne is not always as clear as crystal ball. In fact, every individual has one or a set of different causes and triggers. Now you know why there are diverse number of treatments available that partially work. One thing to keep in mind that, there is still no solution that can cure all cases of acne.

For mild cases of acne, a generic product may work. But in many other cases, you must understand the real cause before proceeding. Let's debunk some myths. Many people still believe acne is caused by dirty skin. It doesn't. Dirt can trigger acne when a variety of biologic factors also occur at the same time.

For female where hormonal changes are more often, they may notice that it causes acne. Some anabolic steroids, anti-epileptic drugs and many others are known to induce acne. You should talk to your doctor before stopping any medication.

Perhaps you have also read somewhere that experts insist that diet has nothing to do with acne. On the other hand, nutrition experts are so sure about it. Your skin is what you eat. Certain foods do trigger acne. It's critical to understand the difference between triggers and causes. So unless you know the cause, it doesn't help if you just blame it on certain food.

Your genes control your skin type. Some people are more prone to acne breakouts than others. Stress, for instance, lowers your immune system. Its lack of healing ability may cause acne. And that certainly is unique to every body.

Acne cream can eliminate mild cases of acne. But consider yourself lucky if you hit the jackpot on the first try. At other times, it doesn't do anything to improve the condition, because the true problems are still there to cause future breakouts.

It is easy to think that once you handle the blemished area, the problem is gone. More importantly are things that you don't see. Regular exercises, stress management and activities that can improve your health. Although not an immediate cure, it can help the process. Well, there may not be any direct impact. However, as you get rid of the cause, acne often disappears altogether and never recurs.

Sometimes it is not easy to figure out one single factor that may be causing your acne. But more often than not, to cure it totally, you need to improve your overall health and boost immune system. Bottom line is, clear skin is not only about taking care of what you see but also what lies within.
