Connecticut weddings have the benefit of being in one of the more picturesque locations for seasonal weddings. Seasonal themes, such as spring, summer, and fall, have increased in popularity for weddings. This permeates every aspect of the ceremony: the location and the setting, the décor, the favors, and the invitations. Guests often know they're invited to such an affair by the graphics used for the invitations: some orange and brown leaves for an autumn wedding, a bouquet of flowers for spring, and more plants or beach images for the summer. Those planning Connecticut weddings have the luxury of experiencing all of these seasons and incorporating them into the ceremony and reception without the extremes of heat and cold.

If you've decided for a seasonal theme – and this is popular not only for Connecticut weddings but for ceremonies everywhere – consider the location for the ceremony and reception. With ceremonies in particular, an outdoor location is common. Not only do you and your guests benefit from the fresh air but the backdrop of the seasons, be it changing leaves or spring flowers, also enhances the atmosphere.

Of course, if you decide to do a ceremony outdoors, you should consider the location of the reception. If you want the affair to go smoothly – and to also cut out the cost of direction cards – consider scheduling the ceremony and reception in one location. For Connecticut weddings , this is often a location that has grounds for a medium-sized outdoor ceremony and indoor facilities for a reception. Both should be able to accommodate the amount of guests. As the weather, particularly in spring, can be fickle for Connecticut weddings (and for any other location in the Northeast), shelter for the reception – the usually longer part of the wedding day – is needed. If the location doesn't have indoor space, the grounds should be large enough for a few tents to be set up for shade and shelter for you and your guests.
