We all know of the amazing rate of divorce in recent times but what many do not consider is that if half of marriages fail how many come close but pull back for good or ill. This means well over 50% of marriage face serious troubles! However, how many that stop their divorce should not have held on to a terrible relationship and how many should have fixed their marriage before they split?

This may appear controversial as most would immediately say that marriage is sacred and should always be saved from the pain of divorce. However I believe that we must all not just jump to conclusions because sometimes things just do not work and even when children are involved the best decision may be to go your separate ways.

This must of course be qualified by saying that thevastmajority of marriages can and should be fixed! Before you start down this path to fix your marriage though you should do so with a clear mind and heart. You should be fully aware that you are doing this for the right reasons and that the outcome will be better than before.

How can such a decision be reached though? How do you evaluate such things? A quick checklist of things to consider follows:

  • Is your marriage abusive?
  • Will this make you both happy in the long run?
  • Are you being honest with yourself over the reasons you want to stay together?
  • How will this effect your children both divorce and staying together?
  • Are you doing this out of fear rather than love?

By no means is this an exclusive list but a few things to think about before you decide to take action and fix your marriage if you know it is worth saving and for the right reasons. If you are committed to this path click below to find out how to stop your divorce and find the elusive marital bliss you long for.
