If you're always out moving and driving, a folding wheelchair is a great choice because it can easily be put into a car or van for travel. The tougher, rigid wheelchairs may be durable, but they do not the offer same convenience of a folding wheelchair.

The Biggest Reason for Buying Them

If you use a wheelchair, being able to move around easily and get from place to place is just as important as anyone else. You may choose to go with a folding wheelchair because it allows you to do this easier. Since it folds up and be stored away, a folding wheelchair is a great choice for anyone living in a smaller apartment, or who often has to store their wheelchair in a car.

Some Reasons Why They May Not Be Right for You...

While a folding wheelchair is a great choice if you're always on the move, it may not be a great choice if you're particularly active. They can be a bit heavier, and due to their design, a folding one is not as stable as a rigid one. Turning and moving fast while playing a game will cause the frame to shift and flex, and could lead to it wearing out and breaking down easier. Though, since it has a variety of moving parts, it's easier to fix than a rigid one. It's a trade off; the folding wheelchair is easier to fix, but because of the moving parts, it breaks down easier.

They're still a great choice though. The extra parts on a folding wheelchair make it a bit heavier, but it shouldn't outweigh the convenience of being able to fold it up and put it into a smaller space. The weight can also make it harder to push around, along with the flexibility of the frame, so make sure the weight of a flexible frame is not something you won't be able to handle before purchasing.
