By now you are probable aware of the virtue of moisturising and hydrating your skin. However, there are certain foods that, if incorparated in your diet, can fortify your body, thereby boosting your immune sustem and keeping skin problems at bay.

Here are some foods that will see you through winter:

Fresh fruits and vegetable juices provide vitamins and minerals to skin, as they are directly absorberd through the blood stream and keep you hydrated.

Foods that contain vitamin A such as papaya, peach, carrot and green, leafy vegetables increase resistance.

Lime, amla, orange, guava, spinach, which are rich in vitamin c, helps in collagen synthesis, which holds skin cells together promoting clear and fresh skin.

Tomotoes are very rich in lycopene, which acts as an antioxidant that protects skin from internal damage.

Whole grains, vereals, almonds and walnuts are rich in vitamin E, which makes skin soft, smooth and supple.

Even though we don't feel very thirsty in winter, make an effor to drink loads of water, as it flushes out toxins and maintains skin elasticity.

Avoid excessive intake of tea ot coffee, as it dehydrates the skin and blocks the absorption of nutrients, adding to the dull and dry look. Instead, consume green tea, which is an excellent rejuvenator and antioxidant.
