The chemical name of Fosamax is Alendronate. It can be used in the treatment of osteoporosis or for its prevention.

The medicine should be taken as strictly prescribed by the doctor. The medicine should be taken in empty stomach with half a glass of plain water. It is usually taken once a week. There should be minimum half an hour's gap between getting up from sleep and taking the medicine or taking the medicine and lying down. The medicine should be stored at room temperature away from heat, light and moisture in an air-tight container.

There is a chance that the medicine interact with other medicines taken during the course of treatment and hence all medicines and medical conditions should be well and pre-informed to the doctor to avoid complications. Aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or corticosteroids taken during the treatment might demand a dose change. Stomach problems, cancer, deficiency of vitamins, pain while swallowing food, blood clotting problems, infections, pregnancy, breast-feeding etc should be reported to the doctor. The medicine is not recommended for people with weak kidneys, esophagus or for a generally weak person who cannot sit or stand erectly for a minimum of half an hour. Alcohol usage and smoking should be controlled while in treatment.

Possible side effects of the medicine include joint pain, muscular and bone pain, irregular bowel movements, gas trouble, nausea, cough, old, vomiting etc,. Conditions that should avail immediate medical help while in treatment are sore mouth, colour change of stool, blood traces in stool and vomit, sensitive skin, swellings, jaw problems etc. Swellings, breathing difficulties, rashes, itching etc can be symptoms of an allergy reaction and should contact the doctor immediately.

Fosamax is a well known drug and at the same time it is widely considered as the best option for most of the strange diseases that you might come along. It is always advised to buy these drugs at CanAmerica Global , as you can save a lot of time and money.
