Consistency to urinate frequently with less gap of time after each pass leads to frequency, which is the other name of frequent urination. Frequency leads to discomfort in one’s healthy physical being. Persons suffering from diabetes (blood sugar), hematurai and certain other bacterial problem like the urinary tract infection (UTI) are responsible for frequency. In this aspect, changes in the women’s menstrual cycle are also an important factor responsible for frequency. Menopause is thus a factor of this. But what exactly is menopause and how does it lead to frequent urination? This is a question the answer of which many women would like to seek.

Clinically, menopause is defined as the cessation of menstruation for 1 year or more. Generally when women reach their early forties experiences menopause. Perimenopause is referred to as a period of time prior to cessation of menstruation when a lady experiences bulk of symptoms and frequent urination is one of them. Menopause cannot be considered as a disease. It is only a natural transition process for women who are similar to adolescence, but it leads women away from the child bearing aspects.

Menopause as it is a factor responsible for frequency, it entitles women to make frequent urinal passes. It may create discomfort at the early phase of the menopause period. This factor may be temporary but when it occurs in a women’s life, it creates various signs of discomfort, both physical and mental, depressions, mood swings, decrease in the sexual drive, anxiety, insomnia, headaches, vaginal dryness, loss of hair etc.

Menopause is basically the result of failure of the ovaries. It may sound ominous, but is actually a normal part of aging. Eventually, the ovaries steadily lose the ability to produce the hormones (estrogen and progesterone), that govern the menstrual cycle thereby leading to the gradual decline of the production of the women sexual hormones.

Thus as menopause hits a women, they very often find themselves rushing to the bathroom at the most inconvenient times. Frequency when accompanied with menopause creates a continual urge to go to the bathroom or a feeling of fullness in the bladder. More than 40% of menopausal women suffer from frequent urination which is considered as one among the various menopause symptoms.
