Having sweaty palms and had to endure the embarassment througout my life kept me looking desperately for the solution. My social life was next to none and of course having a girlfriend was out of the question. Social function was something frightening. I would make all sorts of excuses to avoid it.

Searching on the internet, the term "Palmar Hyperhidrosis" came up, that described my sweaty palms problem. It is actually the hyperactive sweat glands from the overactive sympathetic nervous system that is stimulated more easily than most people do. Getting nervous or excited, my palms would sweat profusely.

The first treatment that I tried was a strong antiperspirant prescibed by my doctor. Very inconvenient because I had to reapply it frequently and my sweaty palms would be okay only for couple of hours. Further discussion with the doctor, "Iontophoresis" treatment was recommended. It is basicly a process of passing a low electric current through the surface of my sweaty palms. This will make the outer layer of the skin thicker thus will block and stop the aweat flow.I saw a huge improvement after 4 days but I had to go through the treatment for every 3 weeks. The only setback was the cost and time that was drawn from me.

Surfing the internet, I came upon a site about building a homemade iontophoresis machine. The manual provided guides you a simple step by step instructions to create the device. The machine worked perfectly and having it at home is a blessing. Now a new lease of life was given to me and I intend to do all the things that I could not do before.
