Hello, my name is Mitch. Like you, I have suffered from Panic attacks. They got in the way of my everyday life and I couldn't even function like a normal human being. They got me SO stressed and I just wanted a way out. If you have these panic attacks, then you know what I am talking about.  Here are a few questions about Panic Attacks and then at the bottom of the page there is a link where you can find tips for panic attacks and other great stuff.

What are panic attacks?

Panic attacks may be symptoms of an anxiety disorder. These attacks are a severe health trouble in America. At least 20% of adult Americans, or approximately sixty million people, will have panic attacks at some point in their lives. About 1.7% of adult Americans, or about 3 million people, will have full-blown panic disorder at some time in their lives, with the crown age at which people have their first panic attack being 15-19 years. An additional truth about panic attacks is that this symptom is strikingly unlike other cases of anxiety; panic attacks are so very sudden and a great deal unforeseen, seem to be motiveless, and are frequently crippling.

What are some signs I have panic attacks?

As depicted in the first example above, the symptoms of a panic attack come along abruptly, with no evident cause. They could include any of the following

* racing or hammering heartbeat
* headaches
* stomach upset
* dizziness, lightheadedness
* difficulty breathing, a sense of feeling smothered
* tingling or numbness in the hands
* hot flashes or chills
* trembling and shaking
* dreamlike sensations or perceptual distortions
* terror, a sense that something horrible is about to happen and you are powerless to prevent it
* a need to escape
* nervousness about the possibility of losing control
* fear of dying

If you are having these symptoms, you most likely are having panic attacks.  For some great tips on panic attacks and how to alleviate them forever, look at my Bio in the area below.
