When it comes time for the groom's speech, the father of bride passes the microphone to his new son-in-law.  As a newly married man, you’ll no doubt have many sweet and delightful things to say, and by planning ahead you can say them with confidence.  A perfect time to highlight the attendance of favorite relatives from far away, the groom's speech is traditionally a time to thank guests, the bride’s parents as well as all the friends and family who’ve helped make your wedding so beautiful.

Thanks and Love for the Guests and Family

Delivering thanks to the guests for their part in this magical day as well as mentioning the many friends and family who’ve worked behind the scenes is a great way start.  A wonderful way to introduce special guests, thanking guests who’ve traveled to your wedding is a nice touch.  Looking over the table arrangements can help you ensure that you look around the room by thanking individual guests during your speech.  Well-planned speeches leave the speaker at ease to speak from the heart, so take a few minutes to plan what you would like to say.

The groom's speech and Her Parents

Sharing a loving and heartfelt thank-you to the bride’s parents is a great time to propose a toast to your new in-laws.  It’s okay to be sentimental and emotional about things, this is a very important milestone in the life you’re going to share with your beautiful bride.  Thanking her parents for not only their contributions to the wonderful celebration, but for their support in your joining the family is a sure bet to demonstrate what a charming son-in-law you’ll be.  A gracious and well-spoken showing of gratitude to your new in-laws will be a memorable moment in a very important day.  By taking care in selecting your words, one can deliver a groom's speech that all in attendance will cherish.

As a time to give thanks to the guests in attendance to show their support of this blessed event, a groom's speech can highlight favorite relatives or other special guests as a way to introduce the guests to their tables.  Sparking conversations this way is the hallmark of a gracious and well-mannered host, and will show your appreciation to the family and friends who’ve made your special day such a wonderful event.  Thanks are also given for to the bride’s parents, and can be a polite introduction to their family.
